Spelling

If I had to ensure there were no spelling mistakes in my blogs, I'd do nothing else. Not because I'm a sloppy writer, but because my brain doesn't always see there's some letter gone missing.
In a previous blog post, I've written about having dyslexia and how much I have struggled with it throughout my life. Dyslexia makes it difficult to see where a letter is missing and sometimes even erases those red squiggly lines trying to yell out I've missed something. Words shuffle, numbers too, making it compulsory for me to read something three times to allow my brain to spot those mistakes.
The question I asked myself when I decided to start this blog was how much time I wanted to spend on making sure each blog post was free of those red squiggles. If I had to ensure that was the case, I'd have quite a bit less time to write my books. So instead, I have people help me by proofreading the blogs, but even there, the spelling might not be perfect since the last person to correct each text is still me. Adding something. Deleting something else.
Of course, spelling things correctly is important, but when already struggling with something like dyslexia, I've learned to prioritize my time differently.
So, even though the spelling in my blogs is definitely important, getting my books written is worth more to me. I’m grateful of the help to double check my blogs, since it earns me more of something worth gold to me. Time.
